So we're into the fag end of the year, and everyone looks satisfied enough with the year that has transpired. Well, a few will powered, and highly motivated individuals, still feel there is lot to achieve before Dec 31st . What's understandably known is that, another 60 days could define the course of your actions in the coming year. However, what shall continue to define us will be the affinity where have for people in general, and the engulfing manner in which we all shall continue inspiring humanity to celebrate festivals. Trust me here, people shall continue celebrating days that unite common minds, to bring together a sense of belonging. ...

Compassion and Technology. A May-December Romance?

And is there a possibility that this exists? Compassionate moves in a technology inspired world. I simply find it hard to comprehend. 90 percent would like to believe this doesn't exist. The other 10 percent are perennial optimists ! In a world of cut throat competition and dandy democracy, there is no way, compassion can feature in the Top 5 emotions list of the C-suite. Advancements in technology are making or have made people more self-centered, materialistic and too engrossed in their devices . Also, the idea of learning and sharing is met with a raised eyebrow, and at times mocked to an extent, where morals are que...

The Founders of Felicitation!

Image
Photo via Visualhunt One of the best feelings ever! Being felicitated for dedication at work and the efforts in bringing success to an organization; as a TEAM . TEAM awards are situation-ally comforting, and overtly cliched as well. At times, I wonder how does the credit for success get divided? Or is there a need for a division of any sort? I consider it important to dissect praise for team projects. This is to ensure that no one feels left out, unloved or unwanted. #teamdynamics Getting people to connect and realize the importance of the award is as important as receiving the award on the stage. There cannot be a better feeling of seeing everyone's face in the team, beam with pride and watch happiness, that multiplies with every smile. It brings back childhood memories and rushes of child-like enthusiasm. What's enjoyable is the fact that, for 5 minutes,...

We Shall Overcome - Yes, Definitely!

Photo: Via VisualHunt As people of the world, there are incidents that leave us burned, bruised and tattered. There are natural calamities and attacks on humanity, leaving our spirits in shambles. There are incidents, whose scars promise to heal with time, yet, it takes much more time than anticipated. There are support systems, that promise to be at our aid, whenever needed, however, we understand that it cannot be possible always! In spite of all that transpires within our ecosystem and beyond, we pick up the shattered shards of our lives, with the hope of putting it back together! Yes, we believe that we shall overcome! Never before has humanity seen so much death and destruction, never before have we seen this magnit...

The Equator of Love

Image
Photo via VisualHunt Not too long ago, during a coffee break at work, a colleague popped a question, which would make men guffaw and strike it away, without giving it much of a thought. The question was on the lines of relationship building, and was an honest attempt to get views on the best way on should approach a marital relationship. What transpired were a series of thoughts that covered a lot of taboo-ed topics of the last generation, yet are spoken much more in the open these days - Drawing a invisible lines between past flames and the current dame. It's important to take note that all debating individuals were men between the age groups of 27 to 35, so a scope for a healthy argument did exist. Here were a few inferences:...

#Lunches4Munches - That's #Food for a big lot!

Image
Photo Courtesy: Pankaj Madnaik Sponsored team lunches can be a tricky affair. It's an opportunity to stuff one's self with delightful food and not have to peek into the exorbitant bill amount, which turns up in the end. #HowTrue On a lot of occasions, such opportunities are un-put-down-able , especially when the boss ends up footing the bill. The best part to be noticed - dishes never heard of, begin making their way to the table and the reactions received by people, are that of astonishment and the comments, tongue-in-cheek! :-) The most awesome part is, all the cat-fights, flaring emotions and disagreements, which may have transpired during the past, are forgotten, excused, locked in a chest and the keys, chucked into the big wide ocean. #BeingSmart An opportunity to make amends on all the disaste...

Always a good time to count your blessings :-)

Image
Photo : Abhishek 'Harry' Haridasan There is never a good time to count one's blessings. Every minute, or perhaps every hour of the day, is a perfect time to remember the Lord, for the countless blessings bestowed upon us. The image above was randomly clicked by yours truly, while shepherding a group of intellectuals at an event. In a country like India, where culture, heritage and beliefs are deeply rooted towards pure existence, the lighting of the lamp, made of an alloy of brass and copper signifies much. The height of the lamp, tends to say the following: Bless you all, in a manner befitting to your actions, that shall define your path to salvation. Spare a thought for the world and ensure there is peace of mind at all times . The shiny jutted-out edges, where the cotton wick is placed,...
