What I wear under - Does it concern you?

Labelled as one of the most controversial movies of the
year 2017, the release of Lipstick Under My Burkha highlights something that is
always kept under wraps in our society, #womansexuality
Censored by the Indian Film Censor Board, because of the stern
language and explicitly titillating scenes, where women call the shots, the
release (no pun intended) on July 21, 2017 is a victory of sorts, for a part
of the modern society in India, that understands the flip side of the coin.
What simply baffles me, is because of the mostly patriarchal societies we live
in, the needs of women and their intimate drives towards the *S word* have been
shunned for generations.
The way they dress, the way they sit, the way they speak has
always been cocooned with certain notions, created by civilizations, which
have mostly subjected them to confinement and homely duties. 👱👣💅
With the turn of the century, women have become more self
independent and have started calling the shots in their careers and lives. 👩💻👩💼
It's with hope that, as a member of the so called 'ultra
cool, ultra modern' society, the liberating ways that a women relates to, can
be explored in a movie like Lipstick Under My Burkha, where chauvinistic
attitudes are burnt like life-sized effigies and constricted to the gutters,
with the intent to give the #millennial woman and her kind, the opportunity
to walk, jog, run, work and scream with joy, without any prejudices. Parenting
is nice, moral policing becomes too much to deal with. 😝👮
By the way, what's under the Burkha or veil, is absolutely
none of our business. However, what you, me and a lot of the sane people in
this country could do, is give her naked ambitions, an #LBD of strength and
support, to allow her to muscle her way through the mess and weave her magic,
in the process.
