Absolute #swag! That's what the Indian judiciary system has been strutting in the last fortnight of August, 2017.
We've had marquee decisions by the judges, in some long standing and extremely painful cases, which have left sections of the society, at large, celebrating!
Yes, the trust in the judiciary system has been instilled back, thanks to the perseverance shown by the judges to give out the right verdict.
Triple Talaq Tension (#TTT): A landmark verdict, safeguarding the dignity and character of Muslim women in India, who have for ages been subjected to non-Koranic methods of divorce, by their husbands. The striking off of the practice, empowers women of the Muslim faith to look into their husbands, eye to eye and demand to be heard by the courts, with equal rights. The hailed Triple Talaq judgement sets the country on course towards an uniform civil code.
Right To Privacy (#RTP): A fundamental right of every citizen, upheld by the government, which allows a person's privacy to be respected, with a certain clause, in relation to furbishing details for the Aadhar program. #RTP allows all individuals to exercise privacy laws, with no interference from anyone, beyond certain economic and social functions, associated with the Central Government.
#20yearsforMSG: This verdict by the Supreme court, puts on end towards the blind faith of people on divine sadhus/sadhvis (monks), fake clergymen and self-styled God-men/God-women. The sentencing of Dera Sacha Sauda Chief , Ram Rahim Singh Insaan, for rigorous imprisonment (RI) of 20 years, in relation to atrocious rapes against sadhavis (disciples) at his shrine in Sirsa, has given rape victims a ray of hope, especially when heinous crimes are committed against women, and shows that no one can be above the law. #JusticeForWomen
Some landmark decisions, which need to be applauded and everyone does hope, this leads to better streamlining and time bound verdicts by the courts, in the days ahead.
