Also, no right wing fringe group, has the authority to demean a woman or man, by issuing a bounty for their heads and culled organs, in return for restoration of community pride. We aren't living in the 12th century, and we surely haven't stooped so low, that we start killing our fellow citizens. Sanjay Leela Bhansali (SLB)  has been caught in fresh controversy again ( read: Ram Leela, Jodha Akbar ), as his Rajput pride, magnum opus movie releases. This time, we just don't have some flimsy sects of people, who brand themselves

Demonetization - One Year Later!

On second thoughts, let me keep them safe, as making a new one could cost another couple of hundred rupees.  Where were you on the evening of Nov 8, 2016? I'd suppose a lot of you, were leading normal, mundane lives, watching TV or surfing the internet, or basically doing what you all love.  #Demonetization   - a thoughtful, yet hurriedly implemented economic decision by the Government took the nation by storm. In just couple of hours, 86 percent of Indian currency was devalued, leading to mass hysteria and people sweating about what would happen to their hard ear

Khichdi is #soulfood!

By the way, how did this happen, and when did it take this trip to #foodnirvana?  The humble and plain Jane looking, #khichdi ( sweet/salt rice porridge ) is now the National Food of India , however orgasmic or ornamental the claim may seem.  I assume; and these are just varied thoughts, that what went in its favor is the ease of preparation, using minimal ingredients, with maximum nutritional value.  I always wondered if #khichdi was a North Indian thing, however info-graphics and stats released by the Government and food industry related bodies, do paint a different picture. #Khichdi is practically consumed in various avatars, across the

My Anthem, My Respect. Get them standing!

I'm honestly glad a woman ( more specific: an actress ) has come out in the open and said that moral policing and forcefulness cannot be resorted to; in order to make an individual have national pride.  Trust me, the love for the country lies in the psyche and heart of an individual. He/she seeks nationalism to connect with the motherland, and pay respects for being a "son/daughter of the soil."  However, asking to display forced national pride, No Sir! Doesn't work that way.  We are all proud to be citizens of a nation, that dea

Women can tickle the funny bone! #reallygood

I rest my case, and am glad to announce that India women can be successful stand-up comedians and tickle people's funny bones in the process. It's in-built in them, and they can progress on many levels of comedy.  I was left laughing my derriere off, over the last couple of weeks, when #QueensOfComedy was aired on TLC. I watched it on YouTube, and was stunned to see the lording stage presence and the scripting of sets by 8 extremely talented women.  Urooj Ashfaq, Nivedita Prakasam (The Ultimate Winner), Surbhi Bagga, Dwijal Mehta, Saadiya Ali,

(P.S. - It never happened, ever!) Sri  was studious boy, from the city of  Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India . He was ambitious and loved juggling between tech devices and tech journals. As his board exams ( Grade 10 exams ) neared, he felt the need to up his game.  Mathematics, English, Regional Languages, Physics, Chemistry  were his love, yet  Biology  played hide-and-seek from him. He put his head into learning anatomy, couldn't ever get the analogy right! He tried studying about derma, somehow it couldn't become his dharma. When pollination was taught, he was away on a vacation. When reproduction was 'touched' upon,  sexual and asexual , he fe

#Hashtag to stash Goodwill on Social Media!

Image
We've seen them as part of so many posts online, and have definitely wondered why they are there. Word(s) written with a  hashtag  in front of it, which gets highlighted on its own, thanks to algorithms and social media techniques.  So why use a  hashtag ? Well, yes it's cool and yes, it gets people to notice your post, however there is a lot of thought process that goes behind creating a specific hashtag, which marketers use to promote products, an event, a sentiment or even an expression of happiness.  You'd ask, wasn't it being done earlier?  The answer is yes! Earlier, words were written with much normalcy, just like ascribing online articles; however, social media lingo and literature have seen a combination, making more users inquisitive and increasing readership.  While you and I ponder upon, on the next best hashtag, which can be used on  Twitter ( this is where it all began ),  Facebook ,  LinkedIn ,  Instagram ,  Pinterest  and many more networki
