The Balance of Professional and Personal Life!

We are debating yet again, on a topic that seems to never leave our grasp ever!
It is said successful people find the perfect balance after much deliberation, while the others scratch their heads trying to determine the perfect equation.
How can this hallowed balance be achieved? Is there a success mantra, or more honestly should we really put in efforts to solve this code of life?
On assumption, over 50 percent of the individuals I've met feel the heat, of managing both aspects of their life. While their profession pays the bills, they dedicate too much time; something in the capacity of 12-15 hours at work, which dents their personal life.
I have had first hand views of burnt out individuals, who have befriended me and advised me to find the perfect balance; how, no one knows
After much soul searching, I believe this tips could help. Rest assured, I'm WIP too, so this just about could be an exact fit for everyone.
  • Plan your day - Perhaps for the umpteenth time, this claim has been made, however this still holds true. A plan brings discipline and helps pursue a certain level of perfection
  • Laugh it out - Stress is inevitable, especially at roles, where quick results are needed. Laughter is the best medicine to mish-mash those starchy stress potatoes away. One might gather a few roving eyes, but hey, it's your life, #laughhard
  • Over-committing is dangerous - Being enthusiastic is good, Over-committing is not advised. Drawing board tactics are needed, as there is only so much an individual can do, without jeopardizing his/her health. In the end, a relaxed individual performs tasks much better than his stressed out counterparts!
  • Family on priority - I've learnt this the hard way, so here goes - Spending time on the phone is great, yet being there for them during important days make a world of difference. In the end, the effort to make the trip to see them smile, is the best gift one can receive
  • Circle of Trust - Not everyone can be a close confidante. Find the ones you can confide to and never let them out of your sight. The reality is we are social animals and need our dopamine levels to be high, in order to continue an energized pursuit towards life
I'm sure the above points aren't the only ones to dwell into. There will be many more and I'd love to hear from my network about any best practices to marry personal and professional lives amicably.
