Silence has been broken, finally!
Correct. Simple. Soul Defining! Adjectives to decide the #TimePersonofTheYear - Silence Breakers from the #MeToo movement.
It's taken close to a century for women to be vocal and come out of the closet, which is a sad for the entire human race. Years and years of silence by women achievers, on their accounts of sexual abuse and hate, have literally killed their conscience.
Silence Breakers - A group of 15 women, who have been subjected to violence, hate, abuse and disturbing acts by certain men of the society are being collectively hailed as the#TIME Person of the Year for 2017.
I would like to believe this to be one of the boldest moves by the TIME Magazine since 1927, when the publication first began giving out this title to people who managed to bring a difference in the world.
The Silence Breakers have invariably been a part of the #MeToo campaign online, which accounts their harrowing experiences of sexual abuse in their public and in certain cases, their private lives.
None have been spared! Actors, directors, news personalities and normal individuals, whom one would've never associated with sexual discourses; such men have been publicly humiliated and booted from their professions.
This goes to show how important lives are becoming, and the way social media supports in providing a voice to the unheard.
The Silence Breakers deserve a respectful smile and thunderous applause for coming out of the closet, and facing the world, thereby ensuring that no woman ever goes through horrendous ordeals.
A thoughtful choice but Time Magazine, which should usher a revolution for women across the world to be bold, live up to their dreams, and stand up for what they feel is right, without worrying too much about societal pressure.
Salute to the women, who make the world a better place to live, with their strength, courage and determination to bring a change.
