I'm glad to have read about these beautiful septuagenarians, and seen them in action for as far as I can remember.
The best part of their jobs are that in spite of being in the limelight, they have remained outspoken, and lived life on their own terms. They have never allowed their marriages, society or anyone for that matter to dictate terms to them. No diktats have bothered them, ever!
Enter Hema Malini, the eternal dream-girl of Hindi cinema, a danseuse, and a celebrated actor; and Shobhaa De, author, columnist and social activist, who fights fire with fire, and never cows down to anyone.
These women have reached their 70s, and surprisingly don't seem to have aged a bit. In an age, synonymous with wrinkles and sagging skin, these women stand tall and give the young brigade a run for their money.
Much credit must be given to them, for their control on their diets, their fitness regimes, early bird habits, and chutzpah for life. They have been able to strike a balance between their personal time and professions.
In an era, where people struggle to define boundaries at work or at home, these women are perfect examples of hogging and shunning the limelight at their own will. Every year, they emerge stronger, and voice their opinions much harder than before.
Be it the silver screen or the tabloids, nothing seems to stop them. Looks like the adage, Age is Just a Number holds true for them.
Much respect for these women, who constantly reinvent themselves and are setting a benchmark on enjoying life to the fullest!
