#MOM (2017) - Fights the demons of #society ⛈🌈

There are legends of *Indian cinema* and then, there is *#Sridevi*. *#Brilliance*🌠

Returning to the celluloid, after close to 2 years, Sridevi delivers a scintillating performance as Devki, the stepmother of an 18 year old girl, who finds it tough to admit her as her mother, after the young girl, loses her biological mother to circumstances. πŸ˜•πŸ˜£πŸ˜ž

With the backdrop of the national capital *Delhi*, which unfortunately also has the moniker of being the 'rape capital' of the nation, the young girl is sadistically raped, in a moving car, by a few horrible men, who try to take revenge, since she doesn't pay heed to their advances at a night club *#RememberNirbhaya* πŸ’ŽπŸ“‘πŸŒ›

The group of men (socialites, a school going chap, and the gate keeper of a night club) take turns in compromising on the girl's modesty for over 3 hours. The depiction of this sinful act, makes the viewer cringe with pain. πŸ˜“πŸ˜’πŸ˜°

After multiple missed calls and searches that lasted hours, Devki finally sees the scratched, tortured and extremely abused body of the 18 year old, at a hospital, fighting for her life, due to series of internal and external injuries. The doctors pronounce it as a case of "attempt to rape and cause bodily harm." 😳😲😱

While the young girl fights horrid memories of the night and gives her statement through video conferencing, due to loopholes in the Indian law system, the *rapists*, find a way out to save their skins, thanks to a ton load of money and multiple attempts at assassinating the character of the young girl, just because, in a country like India, 'a woman enjoying a late night party in an enbriated state, tends to be looked upon as an *aisiwaisi* aurat' *#HypocrisyIndeed* 😑😯😭

What follows after this, is a 'revenge for the truth' saga, that's leaves the audience weeping internally, however supporting every move of Devki. Watching Sridevi, plot every move to ensure that the rapists receive a punishment befitting of their crime, is an extremely watchable affair. 🌟

Along with the support of detective 'DK', a.k.a *Nawazuddin Sidiqqui*, who plays his role to the 'T', Devki annihilates the male egos and puts the men through the anguish that her daughter went through, thereby killing them softly with every single move. 😠😀⏰

Watch how humanity, when united, can be the strongest force ever,  helping weed out social evils and bringing justice that is clear and befitting. *Castration, cyanide poisoning, paralytic attack and piercing the #mardaangi factor* 😌🎑🚽

Special mention for a family outing sequence, depicted through a song, where Devki stands with her hands pocketed, amidst stormy clouds that encircle her, with lightning occuring in the background. It symbolises her stand to save her daughter from all societal ills, that prevail, as the rains looks to wash away the sins, which were unfortunate actions of circumstances. *#HeartWrenching* πŸŒ·πŸŒΌπŸ’“

*Akshaye Khanna*, depicts his filler sort role, as a police officer to decent effect (expected much more!). The last scene where Devki fights her conscience to pull the trigger is one for the *#goosebumps* factory. πŸŽ“πŸ’πŸ‘‘

*#MOM* - messiahs of the Lord on earth, to ensure the creations of the merciful Lord, always remain safe. πŸ˜‡☺😍

*#Sridevi*, celebrating 50 years in cinema, emotes, enacts and delivers a stirling performance. There is reason for her being a *#legend*. Seldom can any actor get into the skin of their roles and she has been doing it so consistently, for the past 5 decades, having begun her career as a child artiste.  *#Respect4herTalent* πŸ’—πŸ’«πŸ‘’

*Nawaz bhai*, proves yet again, that sheer hardwork, with the acting calibre, can make character-based roles loveable and connects with the audience very well. He mixes humour and seriousness with elan, in the movie. πŸ˜ŽπŸ’—πŸ‘€

*Akshaye Khanna*, a.k.a Mathew Francis, Delhi Police Investigation Unit, could've been a role, much better than what it finally panned out to be. ❤❣πŸ’”

The actress, portraying the abused 18 year old, deserves accolades for depicting the emotions of hate, love, anguish, torment and innocence extremely well. *#Applaudable* performance. πŸ‘‹✌πŸ‘Œ

Watch *#MOM*, simply because it connects viewers to the painful reality, and makes them realise, to what  extent parents can go, just to make their loved ones receive justice! πŸ‘ŠπŸ‘πŸ‘

*#Mothers*are a blessing. πŸ˜‡
*#Mothers* mean the world. 🌏
*#MOM* - Makers of the *Mainland equilibrium* πŸŒŸπŸŒˆπŸ’«

*Have an introspective time at the movies!* 😢😳
