#BetiPadhao is good, more important is #BetiBadhao!

The stark realities are over powering the well planned marketing strategies. The glories of marketing, no matter how Cloud 9 they may seem, aren't matching up to the promise at ground reality. 
Welcome to one section of 21st century India, which is still stuck in the archaic thoughts of the 18th century; where women were confined to homes, and homely duties. The civil war like scenes at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), considered as one of the prestigious institutes in India; are heart wrenching and my heart goes out to the women, who are being subjected to episodes of misogyny. It's unfortunate that, in a country, which prays to Goddesses, with unmatched vigor and devotion; girls and women feel typically unsafe and picked upon, on a regular basis. 
The time schedules of hosteling women, and even their dietary preferences are not similar to that of their male counterparts. Top that, with a Vice Chancellor (VC), whose comments are getting snarkier by the day, this just doesn't sound like a nation, that needs its women to progress, to catapult it towards achieving more within this century. 
As BHU tries to calm down the situation, with troops safeguarding the university, its high time that malicious comments against women, must be shunned. Giving them a level playing field is important, and that can happen, only when they are considered as equals. 
This shouldn't be looked upon as an effort, rather be seen as a way forward. When educational institutions live up to their education for all motto, that's when the signs of communal prosperity, personal victories, passionate citizens and harmony come into existence. 
#BetiBadhao (Promote the Girl Child) to aspire high and reach their goals, by investing in their education (#BetiPadhao). This shall help usher in a new chapter of growth in India.

Communal Imbalance in our society!
