Kerala: The Coast is Quite Clear!

Visiting the Coastline: 🏄🏊🐳

The southern India state of Kerala offers a lot of natural beauty across the coastline that touches the Arabian Sea and is also blessed with natural beauty in terms of coconut and palm groves, banana plantations, mango trees, beautiful flower patterns, shrubs and paddy fields.

What sets it apart from a lot of states is its acceptance of various cultures; national and international, thereby allowing it to develop at an languid pace and earn the moniker of "God's Own Country."

Heritage Homes with Ancient styled Architecture: ☔🏡🗾

Homes are inspired with locally made materials and blocks of red brick. All homes are airy and allow ample sunlight to shine in, without over dependence on artificial light. Homes are painted with light pastel colors to avoid the scorch of the sun and to stay cool during summers. A lot of the homes have French inspired architecture within it, considering the fact that certain towns were French colonies till the '70s.

The insistence of having verandahs and lawns, where fruits and vegetables are grown for personal consumption, ensures that all families eat healthy too!

The Local Cuisine: 🌽🍖🍗

An acquired taste is needed to enjoy the local cuisine, which is rich in proteins, due to the heavy consumption of fish, meat and poultry produce. The food is generally prepared in refined coconut oil or palm oil, depending on the type of dish that needs to be cooked and the occasion selected. Vegetables also feature in the local cuisine. A lot of exotic vegetables are consumed with various rice preparations. Some dishes worth mentioning are:

Malabar Chicken/Fish/Mutton/Beef Biryani, Vazhatiya Chicken/Prawns/Beef Masala, Mackerel/Sardines Fried in red chillies and ground pepper masala, Cauliflower/Potato Kootu, Velliappams and Mutton Chukka, Mussels Fry to name a few. These are just few mentions and as one explores the vastness of the state, he/she is bound to note many more variants.

Cinema Craziness: 🌟🔊🎬

Malayalis love their movies. The action, drama, emotion and family oriented storylines connect with audiences of all ages group. People throng to cinema halls, to get their fill of Mohanlal, Mammotty, Jayaram, Dulquer, Parvathy, Manju Warrier, Leela and the likes. Watching a movie in a cinema hall in Kerala is an experience worth cherishing, since multiplexes haven't fashionable clouded people's mind and the thrill of watching a movie in a single screen cinema hall is still very much intact! 💘💟💞

What Transpires in Kerala: 🐮🐔🍃

Kerala still has societies that follow a matrilineal heritage. The opinions of women are highly beneficial and they receive equal share in all matters of land and property. However, the state is plagued with cases of women atrocities, due to male chauvinism and certain cases of women, forcefully being confined to homes against their will. The positive part is that the Kerala State Government is taking steps to educate the girl child and make her independent, to help realise her ambitions. 👏👐👊

The close to 100percent literacy rate is a statistic that Kerala is proud of. In general, people within the state exude warmth and are very inviting indeed. ✌💏👍

Do visit God's Own County to experience how the ancient and absolute new can combine forces to present a state that has the potential to redefine tourism, in personal and literal terms. 😁😉😗

#NaatilPaatayi (The state speaks for itself!) 😇😘😍
